Infected with light

The photography explores the idea of how light can infect an image by long exposures, fading and bleaching. You can see how light has slowly infected the images eating away at the details, colours and lines.

Romeo Pires SS11

Showing at the Vauxhall fashion scout venue is duo Nicholas Humphrey and Sergio Pires aka fashion label Romeo Pires.  Showcasing their spring/summer 2011 collection which was filled with oversized shirts,  super low rise trousers and chunky braces. The models hair was frizzy and teased back into a bun. make up was minimal with white washed faces, throughout the collection there were  references back to clowns, with the use of shades of terracotta, beige and the injection of black, infused with sinister and dark motifs. And I was lucky enough to watch and capture the show from the photographers' pit!

Two Roads

Gemma Russo-Walsh from Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication presents her first production Two Roads.
The production was held at People Show Studios in Bethnal Green, London. Based on the poem The road not taken by Robert Frost, Gemma explored the idea of using twins to represent the two roads and how they begin life in the same place but the choices made as individuals have pushed them apart. Gemma combined film, audio, live performance and fashion to create a contemporary fashion performance.
The garments used in the performance were from Calum Harveys' graduating mens wear collection Strange and sudden surrender.
The event was well organised with drinks and canapes (hand made and very tasty) on arrival. Then we  moved through into the event area where the performance took place. It was very interesting for me as a 1st year to see what a 3rd year promotion student chose to do for their final major project, and to see the different paths fashion promotion can take you.
Well done to Gemma Russo-Walsh for all the hard work you put in to make the event a success and all the best for the future!
